Information Technology Executives’ salaries continue
to remain strong in the Information Technology sector, according to a report
from HDI, the world’s largest IT membership association.
“We are seeing a growing acknowledgement by employers
that certification and certified individuals are more
productive, more likely to be promoted, and in some companies,
command higher salaries. I have witnessed this transition
over the years and it is great to see it reflected in
the data.” said Ron Muns, founder and CEO of HDI.
The survey notes that Information Technology Executives
salaries average $85,309, according to the “Practices & Salary
Survey”, which collected data from 790 companies
between July and November, 2005.
The survey also reported key trends in help desk and
Information Technology support center practices, including:
The cost of support has remained stable, with the median cost per incident reported via the phone, e-mail and self-service being $20, $16 and $5, respectively
Phone support continues to be the most costly of the three, it also continues to be the most common channel for customers to seek assistance at 62 percent
25 percent of respondents answer the phone within 10 seconds; 28 percent within 20 seconds
Response times for e-mail, however, exceed 1 hour, as reported by 43 percent of respondents
